"Fresh out of prison and ready to stack the odds in her favor. Lucia has a plan and she means to stick with it." — Rockstar's official bio
Lucia Caminos is one of the two playable protagonists of Grand Theft Auto VI — and the first female lead of the modern, mainline GTA era. Rockstar's official materials say she was born in Liberty City and served time in a Leonida penitentiary; in her own words from the official bio, her crime was fighting for her family.
Lucia is literally the first thing the world saw of the game: Trailer 1 opens inside the penitentiary with a corrections counselor asking her, "Lucia, do you know why you're here?" — the first line of dialogue in any official GTA 6 material. The trailers have since shown her out of the jumpsuit and into the world: training in a boxing gym, riding motorcycles, in the nightlife, and working jobs side-by-side with Jason.
Rockstar's official synopsis puts the two protagonists at the center of everything: an easy score goes wrong, and the pair land in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the entire state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other to make it out alive. Rockstar has confirmed players switch between Lucia and Jason through the story, with some missions playable together.
Rockstar's materials cast Jason and Lucia as a criminal couple in the mold of Bonnie and Clyde — romantically involved and pulling jobs together. Lucia is the first female protagonist in a mainline Grand Theft Auto, a milestone for the series after more than two decades.
